DESCRIPTION: Lawlor Burns & Associates provided full quantity surveying services on the construction of a new two-storey building extension of 1,140 m2 for Orthopaedic Theatres at Merlin Park University Hospital, Galway for the Health Service Executive. The existing hospital remained in operation during the works. The development consisted of an extension to the existing Hospital to provide two new theatres, recovery bays and support accommodation linked back to the existing hospital via a link corridor. Over part of the ground floor, an enclosed plant room is to be provided and a separate generator and gas store are located externally. The works also comprise the formation of allocated disabled car parking, entrance ramp and general signage, together with all associated site works and services.Works were procured and administered under the GCC form of contract.
