DESCRIPTION: Lawlor Burns & Associates provided full quantity surveying services for a new build 32-classroom national school for the Department of Education & Skills in a greenfield site with associated site development works. The floor area is 5,550 m2. The site of 2.34 hectare, includes a new 32 classroom school including ancillary accommodation with external playing pitches. The design is of a St. Bridget’s Cross layout – a central area with four separate wings of 8 classrooms emanating from the core.

The project was carried out under the GCC Public Works Contract for Building Works designed by the Employer.

Ongar National School, Ongar, Co. Dublin

DESCRIPTION: Lawlor Burns & Associates provided full quantity surveying services on the construction of Ongar National School, which involved the construction of new two-storey 24 classroom primary school with support teaching spaces, ancillary accommodation, general purpose hall for school and community use and additional community recreational facilities and offices, with a total combined floor area of 5,248m2. Site works comprising car and bus set-down, vehicular entrance, car parking, hard play areas and hard and soft landscaping. The project was carried out under the GCC Public Works Contract for Building Works designed by the Employer.

Inchicore National School, Dublin 8

DESCRIPTION:  Lawlor Burns & Associates provided full quantity surveying services on the conservation of and addition to a historic 1850’s Inchicore primary school to adapt it to 21st century requirements.  Works to the new build and adjacent protected structure included the provision of fourteen classrooms, general purpose hall, home-school liaison and ancillary staff facilities at the same time maximizing playground area on a tight site. The project won the RIAI Irish Architecture Award 2015 for Best Educational Building.
